Ice Cube Magic

Do some magic in front of your family and friends. Try picking up an ice cube using nothing but a piece of string and a dash of salt.

Materials:
1. Ice cube
2. Packet of Salt
3. 30cm String

Instruction:
1. Place one ice cube on a clean plate.
2. Wet the string with water. Hold the string and let the end of it lay flat on the ice cube.
3. Sprinkle salt on the sting and let it sit for a minute.
4. Slowly lift the sting to pick up the ice cube.

Explanation:When ice melts it undergone a process called endothermic process or heat-absorbing processes, this makes the surrounding temperature cools. When salt is sprinkled on the string and the ice cube, some of the ice melts. As it melts, it absorbs heat from its surroundings, which included the damp string. As the string loses heat, the water in the string freezes causing it to attach to the ice cube.
